First, introduce yourself:
Hello, my name is Stacey! I was born & raised in Florida– graduated from Florida State University with my MS in Art Education and a BA in Studio Art. I moved out to Los Angeles after graduating and have been here ever since. I’m a multi-media artist with a heavy focus on watercolor painting.
How did you get into watercolor painting?
I went into art school knowing I loved to paint and wanted to take every painting course the university had to offer. I developed a love and appreciation for all forms of visual arts while a student but fell head over heels in love with my aqueous media course. I was drawn to the way watercolors delivered a delicate message I wasn’t able to express using any other media.
What other forms of artistry do you practice?
I’m also a photographer and fashion stylist. It all roots back to my love for figure drawing; the way certain fabrics translate on the body inspired my love for fashion & styling. Lifestyle photography captures the natural way fashion speaks– all my practices help each other build.
What is your go-to denim style when creating?
Anything with pockets and anything baggy.
